Dumfries & Galloway boasts a wealth of creative talent boasting over 400 practising Artists and Crafts Makers producing work of the highest quality.

The craft makers in the area cover a diverse range of disciplines and almost all craft forms are represented including: willow/basketry, wood turning, wood carving, paper making, glassware, tapestry, textiles, ceramics, metalwork, leatherwork, jewellery, etc. The area is also home to the only clog maker and 'viol' instrument maker in the country.

The many professional artists in the area also cover most skills and subjects, and the following can all be found in the region: traditional fine art, contemporary art, fine art photography, sculpture, illustration, print making, installation, new media, environmental art, conceptual art, etc.
